Thunder Thumb
Privacy policy
Effective 16 October 2026
In short
- No account, no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or anything else about you.
- Your progress is never sent to us. Scores, coins, unlocks and settings are saved in your browser. On CrazyGames, if you’re logged in to a CrazyGames account, CrazyGames keeps the save with your account so it follows you to other devices.
- No analytics or tracking by us.
- Ads only on ad-supported sites. Where the game shows ads (for example on CrazyGames), that site and its ad partners may collect data under their own privacy policy, with your consent where the law requires it.
- No real money. Coins are earned by playing and can't be bought or cashed out.
Who we are
Thunder Thumb is made by Rocket Kudu, an independent game studio in South Africa (“we”, “us”). For the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) we are the responsible party, and for the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) the controller, for anything the game itself does with personal information.

What the game stores on your device
The game saves one entry in your browser’s local storage, named laserCannon.save.v1. It holds:
- your high score, furthest stage, checkpoint and any saved run;
- your coins, shop purchases and extra hearts;
- your collection, achievements and unlocked themes and cannons;
- your settings: volumes, language, theme, screen shake, vibration, fullscreen and graphics quality.
The game has no server and never sends this save to us. It contains nothing that identifies you. To delete it, clear the site data for the page the game runs on in your browser’s settings. That also resets your progress.
On CrazyGames, the game saves through CrazyGames’ own save service instead. If you play as a guest it stays in your browser, as above. If you’re logged in to a CrazyGames account, CrazyGames stores the same save with your account, so your progress follows you to other devices. That is handled by CrazyGames under its privacy policy (see Ads below); we never receive it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect, sell, rent or share personal information.
- We don’t use analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or cookies of our own.
- We don’t use your camera, microphone, contacts or location.
- We don’t sell anything for real money inside the game.
Ads
The version of the game on our own pages has no ads and loads nothing from third parties. Versions published on ad-supported platforms show ads supplied by that platform:
- Rewarded ads are optional videos you choose to watch on the game over screen (for a free continue or double coins).
- Interstitial ads may appear at breaks, such as after a boss or between runs, at most every few minutes.
On those platforms the platform and its advertising partners, not us, decide what is collected for ads. That can include your IP address, device and browser details, advertising identifiers, approximate location and how you interact with ads. Personalised ads are shown only with your consent where the law requires it, usually through a consent banner run by the platform. We receive a share of ad revenue, never data about you.
Platform policies:
- CrazyGames: crazygames.com/privacy-policy
If we publish the game somewhere else that shows ads, we will add that platform here.
The website you play on
When you load the game, the site hosting it (for example CrazyGames, or the service hosting our own page) receives the usual technical details any website gets, such as your IP address and browser type, in its server logs. That is covered by the host’s privacy policy.
Children
Thunder Thumb is a game for a general audience. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the game collects none. Where a platform treats a player as a child, its rules require its ad partners to show only non-personalised ads. A parent or guardian with a question can contact us at the address above.
Your rights
Under POPIA and the GDPR you can ask what personal information is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Because the game holds nothing about you, we have nothing to hand over; your saved progress is on your own device and you can delete it as described above. For ad data, contact the platform you play on (see Ads).
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled you can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator, or, in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If the game starts handling information differently, we will update this page and its effective date before the change goes live.
